hello everyone.
my mothers maiden name is henderson and her fathers family originally came from armagh in Ireland i believe in the late 18 hundreds to settle in the UK.
I am getting married in June this year and my wife to be, her family are scots and will be wearing kilts of the Gordon clan . i would like to wear the klt of the henderson clan from Ireland but don't have much look in finding the colour or the family crest associated with the hendersons, any help would be much appreciated.
many thanks in advance

Wear a tartan that you like.
The tartans we see today only date back to the 1820s and are a commercial venture with no links to the clan system
-
i may just do that. there is a support the troops tartan i believe and so much goes to helping those who were injured in war, thanks for that idea.

I had a similar problem for my wedding!
So we went by colour, and my bride and I chose the same blue tartan.
Turned out to be Dress Rangers FC - just as well the in-laws were Ulster Protestant!! ;D ;D
-
I thought Rangers FC were Scottish ???
-
They are - and I'm English, with no Scots blood in me whatsoever!
Football fans in Ulster tend to support either Glasgow Celtic (if they are catholic) or Glasgow Rangers (if they are protestant)!
Just another facet of the sectarian divide, I fear!

Why a tartan wedding?

Blame the wife! ;D ;D ;D

I've got a wife like that too.
I hope you have a long and happy marriage but if things go wrong tell her you don't want a divorce, you want a liquidation ;D
