There is a great deal of information about the descendants of Robert Cornyshe, who lived in Thurlestone in the 16th Century. This was collected by James Thomas Houssemayne du Boulay into a book called Cornish of Devon, privately printed in 1903. However, Cornish is a common name in Devon, and the different families may well be unrelated, as anyone who moved from Cornwall to Devon during the time when surnames were becoming stabilized is likely to have been called "Cornish".

In addition A Family of Devon: their Homes, Travels and Occupations, was written by Vaughan Cornish and printed by King Brothers & Potts of St Leonards-on-Sea in 1942. It contains comparatively little genealogical information as such (and virtually none that is not available elsewhere), but it is a rich source of information about the lives and characters of some members of the Cornish family.
