Title: Topiv reply notification
Post by: Keitht on Monday 03 February 14 18:14 GMT (UK)
Please can someone tell me why in recent times I have only received a single notification when a reply has been posted to a thread in which I am involved? In the last couple of weeks I've noticed at least three threads which are ongoing but of which I've received no continuing notification.

Regards

Keith

Four possible reasons

When you receive a notification - if you don't view the reply - you don't get any more notifications

Is your profile set to receive notifications?

Have you inadvertantly disabled notifications on that topic?

Have you recently changed your email address and not updated your profile?

Hi Carole,

So far as I can tell, nothing has changed and I am talking about a period after having read the initial reply.

I'm one of those people who uses websites, rather than understands how they work. How do I determine whether I am inadvertantly disabling notification?

Click on the profile button then click on email notifications on left side of page.

You should see-
A tick in this box- Turn email notification on when you post or reply to a topic.

And instantly for this option- For topics and boards I've requested email notifications on, notify me:

Thanks Aghasowey. Somehow the preference had become set to "Instantly but only for the first reply", somewhat strange since this had only been happening recently and I'm unaware of ever having looked at my own profile.

Anyway, that would appear to have been the problem, which should now be resolved. Thanks to both you and Carole for your help.
