Hi All,

I am looking for info on Granard Co Longford  1800's

was it a village or a town  farming

Any help would be great

Granard in County Longford is a town, but also an Irish administrative area called a townland, a yet wider administrative area called a parish, and an even wider administrative area called a barony.

BTW, there is a reference in the link below to a Michael Heslenan marrying a  Mary Rockford in November 1796 (note also the 1798 marriage of a Peter Heslanan to Ann Meeghan, possibly a relative).

yes Michael Heslenan marrying a  Mary Rockford, are the parents  Catherine heslin, who married John Smyth.
