And here's another ancestor I've never managed to get past. John Colton (or Coulton) died in Kendal in 1818 "aged 62", so being born around 1756. He had married Jane Burton in Kendal in 1779 suggesting he was in Kendal since at least the time he was in his early 20s, possibly suggesting a birth there. Does anyone have access to the baptismal records for Kendal from around this time?
