I am looking for the birth of Emily jones who was living with her grandmother Mary in 1891 agsd 8 in Overton.Can anyone help please with any info. She married Harry wynne Richards in 1907 and had two children Muriel and Albert.Love to hear from anyone with more information.

I'm surprised that considering the Jones/Richards marriage in 1907 was given in the Ellesmere District of Shropshire that you didn't look also for her birth in the Ellesmere District?
Admittedly it is given as Ellersmere on Ancestry wrongly.
Now her name on the marriage record is given as Emily E Jones.All BMD events at Overton Flintshire were recorded in the Ellesmere District of Shropshire at this time.This strongly points to the entry of Annabella Emily E Jones in the Apr/May/Jun quarter of 1882 in the Ellesmere District of Shropshire,Volume 6a,Page 749.

Well Doreen,with the greatest of respect I would not honestly give you any false advice.I have got literally hundreds of people born in Overton Flintshire in my Tree.All of their births show in the Ellesmere District of Shropshire.

Could I reinforce what WR Jones has said. If she was shown as born in Overton in the censuses then it is extremely unlikely that she would be registered in Oswestry:

Dear wr I am not disputing your info on birth records. As this was I believe an illegitimate birth it is possible that wrong info was given for place of birth.I have seen the birth certificate on the public members tree but it is too small for me to read and I can't for the life of me work out how to send an email from this computer. No birth cert onn the tree that I've looked at but it gives her mother as Mary Jane Jones (as the 1991). Father as on her marriage certificate, Overton 1907.

Somehow, I thought the mother might be Mary Jane when I saw the census. I've not found a baptism for Emily so far. I don't see the Harold Tudor, with or without the Jones , in the cesuses so it might just be made up :-\

The 1891 Census is slightly misleading with it showing Mary Jane Jones as single which is correct.However she did marry Harold Tudor Jones at Overton St Mary but not until 1894!

The 1881 name could well be Bartlam.For a Mary Bartlam married a Josiah Jones at Bangor-on-Dee in 1848.

Hi Gadget. Mary Jane was living with her mother Mary and Emily granddaughter and James grandson in Overton in 1891 I believe she was staying with grandparents in 1881 She married Harold Tudor in 1894 and Emily stayed with her grandmother Mary until 1901. The reason why I am trying to trace that part of the family is that my late husbands father was fostered by Mary Jane and Harold Tudor in1901 or thereabouts and I was trying to find out who he really was although baptised in1910 after his foster father Harold Tudor. Mary Jane died in 1912 and there the trail ends unless he went to live with Emily who shares the sme father as seen on marriage certificate

Harold Tudor Jones' birth was given in the Wrecham District of Denbighshire in 1860.This could well be Harold in 1861.

The tree has a baptism for him in May 1861?, Wrexham. Parents are recorded as Robert and Elizabeth* Jones of Chester. It's very out of focus.

Hi gadget and w.r. Yes that is Harold Tudor senior. I am now trying to find anyone who knew Harry wynne and emilys side of the family. I doubt very much whether we will ever get to the bottom of my father in laws beginnings but you never know. Thanks very much for your help both of you. Doreen
