on the death certificate of George Fordyce on 26.3.1963 at west calder he is the WIDOWER of Marjory Allan Leishman.
Marjory's death certificate on 21.5.1940 at west calder has 1st. married to John Denholm & 2nd. to George Fordyce.
I found a marriage on 31.12.1926 at Portobello between Marjory & John Denholm.
after much searching I can't find the death of John Denholm or a marriage between George Fordyce & Marjory.
I wonder if they actually married.
any help/advice would be appreciated.

Re: marriage - I found one match using George Fordyce spouse Marg** wildcards allowed - rather than Marjory (my sister in law is Margery) It was between 1936-1940 so may be worth a look

That lets out the English 1901 entry I found. Your John Denholm was b Portobello according to the Scottish 1901

Don't use Leischman. I only used the criteria below. I can't make any guarantees that it's the right one as Marg* could also be Margaret but it's just a possibility

I found the marriage certificate but no image available in 1939.i am pretty sure it's not my couple as its between George Edward Fordyce & Margaret ross in Patrick, Glasgow.
I'm beginning to think ,although the death certificates say they were married ,they actually were not.

After much searching still unable to locate the marriage certificate of George Fordyce and Marjory Allan Denholm nee Leishman. We know that George Fordyce and his wife Marjory had a son in 1940.
