Albert Bartlett (1967-1910) from Old Basing Hants married Fanny Rimes (1872-1964) from Warmington, in Warmington 28/03/1894. Located in London they had for children while he was a policeman with the Met.

Evelyn Kate Mary Bartlett 1897 Holborn
Leslie Frank Bartlett 1900 Kilburn
Walter Edward Bartlett 1905 Sidcup
Albert (father) died in 1910 so Fanny took the family back to the Post Office in Warmington where she became Post mistress. In the 1911 census they were all at the Post Office except Leslie Frank who was in the Police Orphanage at Twickenham. Albert (Junior) joined the Navy and lost his life ijn the Battle of Jutland onboard HMS Invincible. Evelyn and Leslie Frank both married, but I cannot trace anything for Walter Edward. He would have been 9 when WW! broke out and 13 when it concluded, which may have been too young for him to have lost his life.

Walter Edward Bartlett appears to have joined the Merchant Navy.
Walter Edward Bartlett dob 25 February 1905,Sidcup, Kent.
There are 3 Merchant navy seaman cards, one where he is a cadet and there is a photograph.
They are available on FindMyPast for credits.

Have had a bit of a break from this one for a while but am ready to have another stab !!!
AIUI Walter Edward Bartlett became a merchant seaman and sailed with the Blue Funnel line mainly on the run to Argentina for frozen beef. I believe his record cards take him to 1927 but nothing afterwards.
Went through the London Electoral Rolls and marriages which were possible but nothing obvious.
Can I ask a question of the retired seafaring folk amongst you please. Should something rather serious / fatal happened to him whilst onboard, would his body have completed the passage on the ship or would hew have had a "Naval funeral" ?
Just try to explore avenues.

Finally able to box this thread off
It seems that Walter Edward Bartlett exchanged a life on the ocean wave for a period onboard a lightship. Walter married Dorothy Bull in Edmonton London in July 1927.
His marriage certificate which amazingly is online, records Walter's occupation as Marine Lightship Officer. The couple lived in Enfield but Walter sadly passed away just less than six years later in March 1933 in the Prince of Wales Hospital Tottenham. Family history from Dorothy's side is that Walter had eaten some food from a can which had already been open, which brought on food poisoning.
The only fact i need to research is where his grave is. Did his mother bring him back to Warmington, or was he buried in Middlesex.
