Hi,
Welcome to Rootschat. :)
There appears to be plenty of information on the internet; just google "Lovat Scouts". Here's a starter for you:

Skyelady welcome to RC.
Try the book "The Story of the Lovat Scouts 1900-1980" by Michael Leslie Melville
ISBN 1-904440-03-7 it mentions all theIr operations in all theatres of war and training in Jasper and the Garrison on the Faroe Islands, a great read and some very good info from the beginnings in South Africa to disbanding.
There is also an index of names, maybe your grandfather is mentioned.

Hi all
I didn’t know my grandad very well for a variety reasons.
I was told, I can’t verify, that he served in the lovat scouts in WWII, trained in Canada and was in Greece. His name was Thomas McMorran, any info greatly appreciated.
Best wishes

Hello there,
I am also on the hunt for my great uncle Kenneth Maycock who was a captain in the Lovat Scouts during WW2 and fought in Italy - I can find no trace of him in any records. The information that I do have is from my grandmother and a photograph of Kenneth wearing the Lovat Scouts beret with three pips on his shoulder. Does anyone has any ideas of finding any trace of him? I have had a look at Melville's 'Story of the Lovat Scouts' with sadly no success.
Any suggestions will be greatly received!
Many thanks

Welcome to Rootschat. :)
Have you thought about applying for a copy of his service record?

The advice given by nannyjan about applying for his service record applies equally well to you if you want to know more about grandfather's service.
The Efficiency Clasp belongs to the Efficiency Medal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efficiency_Medal
