Title: Margaret Beggs
Post by: Peggy13 on Saturday 29 March 14 23:13 GMT (UK)
This is a request for a lookup in the gravestones of Doagh/Kilbride. I am actually looking for three different Margaret Beggs.
1. Margaret Beggs nee Boyd who died between March 1897 and 1901.
2. Margaret Waddell nee Beggs (husband James) who died after Jan 12, 1876. She was born July 1796
3.  Margaret Richardson nee Beggs who died between Feb 1876 and Apr 1880, possibly 1879.
Thanks for any help
Peggy

I found the date of death of Margaret Richardson, nee Beggs.  It was Apr 18, 1879 and she was a widow at the time so her husband Robert Richardson died before her, probably between 1876 and 1880.

You can search headstones in Kilbride cemetery on http://www.discovereverafter.com/ though I had a quick look and didn't see the people you are looking for.

Peggy. Saw your post on Ancestry but I'm not registered there so found you on Rootschat.
I noticed that Robert Beggs married Jane Waddel on 8 Dec 1819 in Ballyeaston.
Also found a possible brother of Margaret, baptised on 26 Jan 1820 in Ballyeaston (father Robert Beggs).
Both First and Second Ballyeaston Presbyterian Churches seem to offer help to trace ancestors in their Churches. Have a look.
I'm sure you know that GRONI records can now be accessed online. For £2, records of BMD can be searched at no cost until you wish to view the actual records which will be £2. No need to send off form to Roscommon or anywhere else. Excellent value.
I found a death of Margaret  Richardson, Reg Antrim , 18 April, 1879. May be your kin.

PS Why not put the rest of your queries on Rootschat?

Hello Fadge,
Looks like I didn't reply to your message at the time. Yes,it was my Margaret Richardson that died Apr 18, 1879. And yes, Robert Beggs and Jane Waddell had a son baptised Jan 26, 1820. This was James W. Beggs who later emigrated to Maryland.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Glensman,
I cannot thank you enough for the link to the website discovereverafter. I found many relatives there and know they are relatives due to who they are buried with. I discovered they are not necessarily buried together as a family, but could be mixed groups of nieces or cousins or siblings. I was able to find some dates of death and confirm others. Even find some new relationships.
Thanks again
Peggy

Just to let people know, I did get the death certificate for Margaret Beggs nee Boyd. She died Nov 18, 1898. Thanks one and all for your help.
That means I only have one more Margaret Beggs to find and that would be Margaret Waddell nee Beggs who died after Jan 12, 1876. I will keep looking.

Hello again,
It seems that I have made a mistake regarding Margaret Waddell nee Beggs.  The family tree that I had from Maryland said that Margaret married William John Wright and had a son William John Wright. Margaret was born July 13, 1796. Possibly Brookfield as that is where her nearest older brother Robert was born.
Anyway, in Robert's will he leaves money to his brother-in-law James Waddell. I concluded that Margaret had remarried to James Waddell, as she is Robert's only sister.  However, I now realize that since Robert's wife was Jane Waddell, James could be Jane's brother. So have spent many, many hours looking for Margaret and James Waddell to no avail. Lately, I have also spent many, many hours looking for the marriage of Margaret Beggs to William John Wright, the birth of their son, and the deaths of both Margaret Wright and William John Wright, to no avail. I did find the deaths of a couple  named William Wright, wife Margaret, in Kilkeel, but have no idea if it is them. It is not their area. William died in 1872 and Margaret Nov 7, 1876.
Can anyone shed any light on William John Wright and Margaret Beggs?
Thank you
Peggy
