I had a look for you on www.imuseum.im, but can't see a baptism?

Mind you, Lawson's Index is showing an alternative spelling of Mylrea?

Was he married at that time?
Is there any mention of father & mother?

Hello,
Are you seeking living relatives or his family at the time?

1851 2524/456/33 shows:

James Mylroie 4yrs with mother Jane and older siblings in Laxey village. However, there are other possibilities.

Regards
Heywood

James was married to Annie (26) but I'm not sure if they married in the IOM or NZ

If you can bear with me for a couple of days, I will see what I can find at the Manx Museum.

Do you have any other information?
So far it's taken 3 posts to mention his spouse and mother! ;D
I want to help, but I really do need to know everything you know about him.

there are two obvious possibilities based on 1861 census both born in Lonan
one s/o Clague Mylroie (note this name can range from Mcylrea to Mylroie etc) + Elizth Lewney (or Looney) - in Agneash (Clague is on club), or son of widow Jane nee Gelling (widow of Wm) in Laxey - suggest ask on http://www.isle-of-man.com/genealogy/messageboard/index.pl as there is an active Gelling researcher, a NZ based Loony researcher + an Australian who has a large web site re Manx Mcylroi's
in 1861 both are labourers the first in mine (Agneash is just above Laxey near the large mine) the other unspecified labourer but probably on washing floors which were in Laxey

Jane was prob bur age 63 on  7 Jun 1863 address Laxey Beach -
Clague buried age 57 31 Jan 1865 address BallaCowle

Hello again,

the site which KGarrad gave you is a very useful site and has relevant records.
There is this marriage  (http://www.imuseum.im/FamilyHistory/View.mth?EntryID=3083903&issourcerecord=true)

1871 has James and Ann Jane transcribed as Mybrois with children James William and Annie. You can find Annie's baptism on that site.
There is also another child Cesar Corlett Mylroi born in 1872.

These names do show in published trees where the family are then in New Zealand.

If you look around that site, I am sure you will find interesting records.

would appear from marriage to be son of Clague - - Clague is s/o Thos Mylroie + Joney Camaish (married Lonan 18050525) - Clague bapt Lonan 18070405 - in 1841 Thomas was a farmer at Graue with sons miners

Thomas would appear to be grand son of  John + Margt als Clague (they gave a m/c to eldest son Thomas at his marr to Mary Clague) and gave address as Graue - catch is Lonan reg are deficient for much of this period (see www.manxnotebook.com) - Bishops transcripts help - also deeds as John appears to have boaught the small holding (a meadow) in 1758

Now I'm well confused? ???

On your first post, you said:

But it appears now that you knew about his family all the time?
