Title: McDougall Death in Dunoon, can any one help please

Hello  all

Trying to  help a  good  mate find  the death  of his  father  James Hutchinson  McDougall who  he had no contact with  in  many many  years.   There  is a  tree  out  there  in  cyberspace  has  the details as born  1924 Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland and  died 07 Jul 1974 (7 Jul 1974) - Dunoon, Argyll, Scotland1974.  There is  no  confirmation material  to substantiate  the  death record.

Can anyone  point  me  in  the right  direction  research wise  to  try and confirm  this.   Cemetery records or such

Just confirmation of the dob and dod. They're both on Scotlandspeople.gov.uk (http://Scotlandspeople.gov.uk)
Unfortunately, they both have to be ordered as they're too recent.
Will have a scout around and see if I can find anything else. :)

Added: I can't seem to find any cemetery records online for Dunoon...not to say there aren't
           any just that I can't readily see them :-\

1974 is the first year that mother's maiden name is included in the index.
That 1974 death has the mother's maiden name as HUTCHESON.
