Title: Gaywood Parish Registers - FELTWELL family
Post by: Barbara F on Friday 04 April 14 11:38 BST (UK)
I wonder if anyone has access to the Gaywood Parish Registers please?

In the Norfolk ATs on family search I have found a baptism for John Feltwell on 9 August 1770. He was the son of John and Elizabeth.  According to the will of John Feltwell senior there are 2 further children, Sarah and Thomas. From his burial record I calculate that Thomas was born about 1775 and I suspect from the order in which the children are listed in the will that Sarah was the middle child.  The problem is that the ATs for the years I need are water damaged.

Can anyone help with a search for the baptisms of Sarah and Thomas in Gaywood between 1770 and 1777 please?

I have checked Free Reg and the indexed records on family search.

Hi Barbara,

Sorry I can't help with the parish registers, but fortunately a few of the Gaywood Bishop's Transcripts have survived, and I found this baptism for Thomas Feltwell in 1776 -

Hi Trish

Well what service...I was just about to start a hunt for that marriage. Thank you.  :)

Interesting that John was a widower when he married Elizabeth.

I looked on FreeREG but nothing is obvious for the 1st Marriage or 1st Wifes Burial.
Do you have Thomas/John (the Sons I presume) marrying on the same day in 1802?
Entries are on FreeREG, Witnesses etc also.
