Title: merchant seaman
Post by: edward fraser on Saturday 05 April 14 04:40 BST (UK)
Hello , Are there any records or way I can find out or trace if a Sween Macdonald born 1791 from Clachnaharry Inverness went to sea on any merchant ships to Jamaica or elsewhere ... I read in a book called Reminisces of Inverness by John Fraser , where a Sween from Clachnaharry sold a monkey to a Mr Macleods son in Inverness , I think it was some sort of pet shop... Macleod says in the book that Sween brought it back from Jamaica after one of his trips ... Any further information will be much appreciated ... Thank you with kind regards Edward..... :)
