Thank you for the 1871 details. :D

The missing word is Broker, in the 1851 census Samuel´s father is a Commission Broker Agent.

Samuel Snook Snr. died Jun Q 1872, mother Mary Snook died Sep Q 1881 in St Pancras.

Samuel Peter´s sister Emma Harriett Snook was an School Inmate at "Charitable Institution for teaching young girls printing, St Giles Road East, Oxford in 1881.

I have not found Alfred Snook either in 1880, he married 1890 in Westminister.

Where was mother Mary Ann in 2q 1881; that may help further?

In 1861 he was a Furniture Broker.
The early censuses were very misleading sometimes ::)

Still not found a clue in 1881 :o

In 1881, there's a 14yo Alfred Snooks, b. Marylebone, listed as a "pauper", occupation "scholar" on The Training Ship Exmouth, in Grays, Essex.

A possible?

The last address I have for him is 2 Little Albany Street North, Regents Park in 1871. He was a Pianoforte Maker.

Samuel Snook
Date of Order 9 January 1877
Parish Saint Mary le Bone

Haven't found it yet.

Well it can be found on ancestry, under, ironically, Westminster/St Pancras/Orders of Removal, Inwards, 1877 (starting image 10)
Bit of a mix up there. They are inward removal orders to Marylebone

So basically as Samuel and Mary had been adjudged settled in Marylebone, under order dated 3 June 1868, and since Samuel Snook junior had not acquired a settlement of his own in the interim, Pancras expect Marylebone to take responsibility.

We have at least got him up to 1877 now.

seems to have quite a lot of information.

Mary is dead by 1877, so she can't be the lady who died in 1881. Samuel says she died about two years previously in Marylebone workhouse.
Possible
Dec 1875 Marylebone 1a 384
Snooks, Mary
age 54

If the OP wants to see how it came about that the Snooks were settled in Marylebone, the 1868 Order of Removal explains all - the whole thing starts previous image.

1901 RG13/1995 F 36 P2
William J S Jeffrey aged 38 printer (comp) postman Dorset
Emma Harriett 36 London
Charles W F 6  Dorset
Gwendoline 16 months Dorset

The fact that William is  Printer makes me I think Emma was something to do with printing on previous census

BUT does the originator want all of this information, are we going a step to far?

It may prove useful, LM, you never know.
As ancestry is FREE this weekend, I'll just give a few links to the unindexed records

I didn't find any sign that Samuel was actually in the workhouse in Marylebone afterwards, so his discharge in February 1877 may be the last sighting.
