Title: 1891 & 1901 Census for Memel St, St Lukes & Beckford Sq, St Lukes

Hi,

Can anyone help me on how to look up 1891 & 1901 Census on Ancestry for both Memel Street & Beckford Square, St Lukes without using a surname? I find it differcult with districts etc. Thanks

Hi if you can use a reference search ie 1891 begins RG12 Then Memel Street in 1891 is RG12/233/137/3 and Beckford Square is RG12/233/6/5

Come back if unsure what to do!

Just checked Ancestry you have to go to the relevant census then scroll down and enter as ie Memel Street, Piece Number 233 Folio137 page 3

Hi Keyboard86

I'm having problems

I'm in 1891 England Census - County 'London' - Civil Parish 'St Luke' - Sub Reg District 'City Road' - and i then click on 'District 12'

All i get is the City Road Lunatics Asylum (Lol) for 11 pages.

Am i using the correct search page for the information you have given me?

 ;D Hi in 1901 Memel Street is RG13/261/99/7 And Beckford Square is RG13/260/84/2 never used as such on Ancestry, but you may have to scroll page by page on the original to find last address in each location?

Thanks keyboard86, got them all.

Reason for all this is because though we know where my grt gparents lived in 1901 (40 Myrtle St) & 1911 (47 Crondall St) we can't understand on 2 birth certs (1896 2 memel St & 1905 8 Beckford Sq) received today why our grt nan has given 2 different address's that up until now we never knew about. We have never been able to find a birth cert for our grt nan (Louisa Wilkins). So, was she an original Wilkins? Yet another mystery
