Yes I know ::) ::).
I`m looking for the marriage of John Jones to a Mary (unknown)
Their first child was born 11 October 1830.
Mary was from Ruabon and John from Corwen (1851) and their children were baptised in Ruabon Independent Chapel, but I think they may have been married in Church.
I hope to find Mary has links to the Moreton Farm, Ruabon which was held by a John Jones in 1843.
According to Palmers History of Ruabon, Moreton Farm was probably known as Cock Farm in the early 1800s.

When was John Jones born?
Regards
William Russell Jones.

Having looked at the Blackwell Index CD of Non-Conformist Baptisms compiled by Clwyd FHS,I strongly favour this marriage at Llangollen in 1826;

Thanks, it could be. I`ve just tried to find it on FindMyPast (I do not subscribe) but it`s not listed.
I`d would have liked to check the original to see if there are any clues.
There are other JJs at Llangollen but not this one.
FindMyPast is awful to search now, ::)

Just found it on Free Reg. There are no more details given apart from names, would this mean that`s all that's on the original entry ?
-
As with most parish entries for this time all your likely to see on the original are witnesses and maybe where they were living at the time.

21 Jan 1826 John JONES (x) otp ba Bn
Mary JONES (x) otp sp wcop
Wits: John JONES, Sarah JONES
Thanks to Jill Rose, I now have this. Seems like this Mary was younger than John, but not sure what Bn means.
For my couple, John is the older.
All these Jones ::)

Yes it doesn't tally with the two Census entries you gave.

William Russell Jones.

The John Jones is probably difficult enough in itself!
As far as Mary is concerned,and I say this without complicating matters too much!There are a couple of other things to consider.One that her marriage to John was a second marriage as a Widow.Also she may have married under her patronomic(sic!) name?

William Russell Jones.
