Hello There
I have Elizabeth Anne MCKENZIE to married Arthur WATSON 1914 - Ref No 4914.
Elizabeth was born I think 19 February 1893 in Greymouth, West Coast, New Zealand - Her parents were Ellen Eliza Andrews and Murdoch McKenzie. Elizabeth went to Australia and 'married' there but we don't know what name she used. Maybe she just left Arthur and went to to Oz. There's a thought that she left children in NZ but haven't found any children registered to the couple.

Looks like your couple divorced in 1929. There is a Divorce File held at Christchurch (with the marriage certificate). Unfortunately, this file can not be viewed until 2029 due to the 100 year restriction.

Thanks so much for this. So we now know she went to Oz after 1929, perhaps and that if she 'lived in sin' it was her own choice.

Hi Jan,
Might pay to hold fire before you send off for that death certificate and investigate further.
There is an Electoral Roll entry for 1954, State of Victoria, Murray, Numurkah, for an Elizabeth Anne Watson married to a James Watson.

I've found out in the last 1/2 hour hat she died in NSW in 1974, but no last name is known :(

The only one that comes up on Ancestry for 1974 in NSW, is for an Anne Elizabeth Boyd born 1881, I don't have resources for Australia. I just searched using the first two names and the year 1974.
Hope someone can help you to get further.

The most likely would be Elizabeth Anne Timms (registered 1974, d. Thirroul, parents unknown) - the other Elizabeth Ann(e) entries have non-matching parents.
I do not see a matching birth (up to 1913) or marriage (up to 1963) for this woman in NSW (but of course could have taken place elsewhere or outside those years).
