Hello
I was wondering if someone could help in finding out about the parents and siblings of Kate Nicholls. She was born in 1864/1865 and married in 1882 in Neath to William Watkins. She came from Cornwall according to the 1911 census
I ask because I am currently without access to the records temporarily.

A quick glance at 1881 (free to search) reveals more than one Kate Nicholls of approx the right age and born Cornwall - so we are going to have to go back one step at a time to trace the right one.
Where is Cornwall does she say she was born? IS this consistant on 1901/1891 censuses? Does she give a middle name on any of the censuses or at her marriage?
Better still, who does she name as father on her marriage?

(John's birth reg indicates he is John Nicholls Watkins)
1901 has LOTS more children, and Kate is down as Catherine and says bn Redruth - so that is a help

1881 does have a Kate Nicholls bn Redruth (have a look) but age is a bit off.
Others bn elsewhere in Cornwall too.
I havent checked for Catherines
