Ackenthwaite was a small hamlet forming part of the larger Parish of Heversham with Milnthorpe (County of Westmorland)
It wasn't a Parish in it's own right.

Sorry I was wrong when I posted that Ackenthwaite is part of Beetham. In the old days there was a railway station for Milnethorpe and this was at Ackenthwaite . My gt gt grandfather Thomas Hodgson was innkeeper at the Station Inn on the 1871 cencus.

My Ackenthwaite ancestor christened his children at Beetham and Heversham if that's of any help. The church in Milnthorpe (St Thomas's) wasn't built until the 1830s
