Here's a possible John Knowles Heathcote/Maggie Walker marriage Chorlton Sep 1882.

Margaret or Maggie Heathcote on census 1891 born 1857 Weaverham Cheshire.
Children William 8 - Morris 6 - Maud 5 - John 2

1901 she is a widow with William K 17 - Maurice 16 - Maude 15 - John 13 - Fred 10 - Margaret 9 - George 4 - Albert 1.

Sorry that was a bit rushed am cooking dinner!  Will add more details later if you think she could be your Margaret  :)

Little bit more.

Death for John Knowles Heathcote age 40 Chorlton Jun 1900.

I can't see the marriage online so you would have to send for the certificate to be sure she is your Margaret and has the correct father.

I might be looking at the wrong one but I can't see where it says Inmate?
Also it has been transcribed as Henry 15 but I think it's actually Fanny as the age is in the girlie column!

On the basis that it's sister Fanny rather than brother Henry if we go back to 1861 we have this little lot, however William has aged somewhat  :-X

William 48
Elizabeth 39
Henry 19
Joseph 15
Mary 12
John 10
Jane 7
Fanny 5
Margret 3
Eliza 1

Hi Milliepede, thanks for that, did you ever come across a daughter for William & Elizabeth called Ann, she was born 1844 Weaverham cum Milton, Cheshire & 1925, she is supposed to have wed a Thomas Lightfoot 1867, this record was past to me last year but I never got around to checking it out.
Thanks again
John

Sorry Milliepede , forgot to ask, I was looking on FamilySearch and came across a record for a Maud Heathcote, her marriage to Charles Moores, was it the norm to give fathers name on the marriage cert even though he died five years earlier.
John Knowles Heathcote`s daughter Maud wed 9/12/1905, he died 1900 ?

Hi John

Yes it was the norm to put the fathers name even if he was deceased.  Sometimes it's noted on the certificate father deceased sometimes not - even if he was.

Marriage in Northwich Sep 1867 Thomas Lightfoot/Ann Walker.

The 1851 seems to fit.  I wonder where Henry Parkes came from, maybe Elizabeth had him previous.

William Walker 38
Elizabeth Walker 30
Henry Parkes 9
Ann Walker 7
Joseph Walker 5
Mary Walker 2
John Walker 1

Hi Milliepede, just found some old notes on Henry Parks Walker, his original name was William Parks Walker but dropped the William because apparently he was born before the couple wed.
In an earlier post I asked you about another child Ann, in your findings you had not mentioned her and I can not find anything but as I said earlier I do have this record, not sure what to do with it at the moment, keep or delete, what a dilemma ?? May I ask what you think.
Thanks again

I found Ann married to Thomas Lightfoot - see above posts.  She wasn't at home with the family at 17 so wouldn't have been listed.  I think she was out on her own as a servant - will check  :)

1861

Ann Walker 17 servant with the Fogg family in Barnton.

Barnton is where her husband and children were born so probably where she met Thomas.

Milliepede, thanks to you, the old grey matter seems to be kicking in, I have found some old notes on the Thomas/Ann Lightfoot Family, but wondered if they Are ALL their children. Just too many...
Sarah 1866, Dan 1868, Ira 1872, Ann 1873, Frances Blake Nee Maddock 1873, John M 1875, Lena Jane 1876- 1966, Rotha 1876 - 1934, George F 1879,Ren 1879, Charles J 1880,Thomas H 1883- 1918 Edith M 1884, Albert Victor 1885 & finally 1887. My notes/records are very sketchy and I can not remember where I got these from , so any guidance would really be appreciated and I know if anyone would know then you would.
Thanks

John

Flattery will get you everywhere John ;D

By 1911 they are only claiming 6 children 3 of which have died.  So it's working out who is still around and who isn't.

In 1871 there is only Dan who is 3
In 1881 we have Dan 13 - Ira 9 - Rotha 4 - Rew 2
In 1891 Ira 19 - Rotha 14 - Rew 12
In 1901 Ira 29 - Rew 22

Ira hasn't died.

There's a granddaughter Ann Clarke born 1895.
Marriage Northwich Dec 1892 Rotha Lightfoot/Edward Clarke so they were probably her parents.

Rotha hasn't died.  She is with husband and quite a few children all born Barnton.

As only 4 Lightfoot children appear on any census I would guess 2 of the 3 that died were born between census  :(

There's a Bertha baptised 30 August 1874 Barnton parents Thomas & Ann Lightfoot.  She might be one of the missing children.

Corresponding birth Northwich Sep 1874 and a death Northwich Dec 1876 age 2.

Dan hasn't died either so it must have been Rew, although I can't see a death for him, plus another little one perhaps.

The 3 still around were Rotha - Dan - Ira.

I think I must have the wrong children or at least too many of them, I did not have a Bertha, so that one is new to me, I might have to start again I think taking into account of the ones you have found.

Way too many.  Without surnames it's going to be very difficult to know who they belonged to  :-\

Frances Blake nee Maddock I can't find a marriage with those names together......ah no Blake is her middle name!

Frances Blake Maddock married daughter of Thomas Lightfoot.  But not the same Thomas Lightfoot we were doing earlier.

1881 census

Thomas Lightfoot 39
Ann 37 - died 2 Dec 1896
Frances B 8
Ann 8
John M 6
Lena J 5
Geo F 2
Minnie 5 months

Two additions by 1891

Thomas H 8
Albert V 6

& finally 1887

This one is going to be the toughest to find  ;D

I think out of your list we only have Sarah 1866 and Charles J 1880 to find.
Have to get something to eat then go food shopping now (must be back before the football!) but will see if can find them tomorrow  :)

Some girls like football, especially last night with goal after goal  :o  Was amusing when the German crowd booed their own side for daring to let a solitary goal in!  Pity that happened but a resounding victory nonetheless.

Back to business.  There is a birth for Polly Lightfoot Dec 1886 Nantwich Cheshire and also a death Mar 1903 Nantwich age 16.  She should be on a couple of census so we can see who her parents were.

Polly was born in Crewe.  Parents Thomas and Jane.

Your Charles J for Joseph born 1880 was her brother.

Edith M 1884 is actually Edith H for Hannah and was her sister.

Hello & good morning Milliepede, what a turn up for the books with the result last night, I am not a fan of the Germans but fair play to them, I thought you said that Thomas wed Ann Walker 1867, did he marry twice ? the message earlier states that Polly`s parents are Thomas & Jane ?
Thanks Milliepede

Wonder who will win tonight?  Argentina have to keep the S American end up but I am going for the Dutch.

All different families John.  The Thomas Lightfoot/Ann Walker combination was the family with children Dan, Ira, Rotha, Rew.

Polly, Charles & Edith belong to Thomas Lightfoot with a wife Jane (not the same Thomas marrying twice because he is with Ann throughout)

There's a marriage Nantwich Dec 1870 Thomas Lightfoot/Jane Ashley.

Other children besides Polly, Charles & Edith are Frances 1878 - Thomas 1882.
By 1911 5 children born 2 of which have died.  One we already know was Polly.

Hi Milliepede, we are rooting for the Netherlands, I do think it is bad what FIFA have done to them though, If I am absolutely honest I think how I came to have so many members in this family line was accepting it through an old email some time ago, I should have checked it out myself. So, to recap it is actually two families.
Does your family follow the football regularly?

John
Title: Re: Margaret Walker 1857/58 Weaverham
Post by: Milliepede on Wednesday 09 July 14 11:58 BST (UK)
I can't pretend I go to football matches regularly but I do enjoy important games, cup ties, play offs things like that.  Same with tv I like to watch all the big games and they don't get much bigger than the World Cup!  I support my local team of course as one does.

To recap we have 3 different families.  2 with Thomas/Ann parents one with Thomas/Jane parents.

Dan, Ira & co from one Ann.
Frances Blake, Lena & co from a different Ann - the one who died 1896.
Polly, Charles & co from Jane.

Thanks Milliepede, was it the same Thomas though ?
Do you watch any particular team i.e. Liverpool ,Man Utd etc....
Fifa, have Ordered the Netherlands Team out of their Hotel straight after their match tonight, Fifa have booked their hotel for all the Sponsors & Dignateries ready for the Final, Imagine that, you play your game, looking forward to relaxing and then find you have to get another hotel for the night, it`s brilliantly well organised don`t you think,

John

No not the same Thomas.  Each Thomas is with a different wife and different children in 1881 so we have them all in different families at the same time..

No particular team, used to be Ipswich back in the day but not sure why as have never lived there.  One of the players probably, was it Bobby Robson managed them.

Changing hotels won't bother them with the final to look forward to.  Really used to dominate world football the Dutch didn't they.  Orange everywhere.
