Just discovered that my ancestors lived at Slack, which I gather was a farm, in the Glenholm area of Peeblesshire. Does anyone know where this was or if it is still there? Have done a search on line but nothing coming up.

The National Library of Scotland maps website gives you free access to old maps of Scotland, including large-scale 19th century Ordnance Survey maps. That's your best bet. You will find the OS maps under "Series maps".

Thanks so much Peter. I was doing some research in Peeblesshire last week and where it is is probably only a couple of hundred yards from where I was as the crow flies! Much appreciated! :D
