Hi :)
im after some information about Amos John Tamblyn estimated birth 1920's mostly like born Cornwall England.
known child Richard Ham Tamblyn born 1849 Cornwall died 1934 Port Elizabeth. (have found grave site and death cert for Richard)
I have found one census record 1851 for Amos John Tamblyn stating his wife was Grace, who I have no information on a daughter Mary (no info) and Richard H (some info) im guessing this is him as it has his son which im sure of. The year of census made Amos 30 years old making him born around 1920's. and the years add up correctly for Richard.
Im just hoping that maybe someone knows of the family and can shed some more light on who they were if there were any other children and more information about his wife and maybe maybe Amos's parents.
thanks a heaps :)

Hi Pink Fairy
Do you mean 1820s for Amos's birth ? assuming Richard's born 1849?
-
Sorry. Yes that's correct
-
Baptism record in the Cornwall Baptisms for Richard Ham Tamblyn: -
baptised 10/03/1849 in Fowey son of Amos & Grace Tamlyn
-
Where on earth did you find that and so fast!!!?
-
1851 census entry has him born in Lantegloss.
Struggling with a marriage for Amos to Grace.
There's a marriage on the Cornwall OPC site & FreeReg for an Amos Tambling but it's to a Jane Tambling ???

Your a wizz!! Thanks so much for your help :-)
Well I just assumed grace is his wife due to that 1851 census and it seeming to match up the tiny bit of family tree info iv been given says they thought he married a Mary but there is a question mark with it.

I wonder if this might be a brother for Amos?

Actually looks like there might have been a couple of families in the area: -

Worth having a look at the Cornwall OPC site - http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org & also www.freereg.org.uk

Wow! Maybe I know that in some of the records iv found for other tamblyns it's been misspelled in those sorts of variations so maybe!
