Could anyone tell me:

1/ what churches are around, layer del la haye, essex @ these years
I have a Alexander Digby that was interred at St mary magdalene,
where would this be.

2 alexander Digbys 4 sons went to, colchester grammar, where were they when they were born

3/ I know through SEAX that a Alexander  Digby were married about 1642, St mary Virgin,at Belchamp walter essex

4/ A John Digby married about the same time, difference of a couple of years, I assume that they were brothers.

Can anyone help

From GENUKI - Essex - Church History - List of Churches - Anglican Churches - there are a number of entries for St Mary Magdalene, one of which is in Colchester.

The burial records for this parish don't seem to start til 1700s.

I would have thought it was the one in Colchester which is not too far from Layer and schooling in Colchester would suggest they probably lived there
