Hello
I'm hoping someone may be able to help me. One of my ancestors was George Crowden who lived in Uppingham in Rutland and died there in March 1828. I know that he left a will due to a newspaper article. I is also listed in the death duty index. Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of the will please?
Thanks
Rich

Hi Rich
You could try here
http://www.leics.gov.uk/index/leisure_tourism/local_history/recordoffice/recordoffice_resources.htm
Archdeaconry of Leicester (including wills and inventories from 1496)

The death duties index identifies the relevant court for this estate as Peterborough, so the Consistory Court of Peterborough records may contain the will.
See relevant listing in this link: http://www.rootschat.com/links/019cp/
