I'm trying to find out where my Grandparents are buried. They died in the 1950s/60s and I know they are buried in the Alexandria area. Apart from the cemetery at Overtoun Road, Alexandria are there any other cemeteries in the area eg Bonhill where they may have been buried? Thank you.

I've found out from a relative that my Grandparents are buried in Alexandria cemetery. Does anyone know where I could find burial records? I would like to visit the cemetery sometime in the future and it would be useful to know where in the cemetery they are buried. My Grandparents names are James Alexander McAdam died 1961 and Barbara Mathieson died 1954. Thank you.

Thank you DonM. I may visit the area next year and hopefully I'll find their grave.

I'm visiting the area next week, and will be at the Vale of Leven cemetery as my grandparents are buried there. If you can find out whereabouts in the cemetery they are, I could take a photo if there's a headstone.

Thank you TerriG. I contacted the cemetery yesterday and they told me the lair number where my grandparents are buried. They are going to check today if there is a gravestone and get back to me. I'll contact you when I hear from them. Thank you again.

No problem. I'm unable to access the internet the rest of today & tomorrow, but I will check my mail when I arrive in Scotland on Sunday evening.

TerriG - just heard back from the cemetery and unfortunately there's no headstone. I might visit there sometime and find where they are buried. Thanks for offering to help.

Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me . My father .. Andrew Gordon Douglas died in 1961 he is buried at Vale of Leven Cemetery . I have the plot number .. K27 74 . Unfortunately there is no stone . I only discovered quite recently the location of his burial . I never knew him as I was 5 months old when he died . If anyone happens to be in the cemetery & is interested in locating this plot & taking a picture of the area it would mean so much to me . I would very much like to visit his resting place . Does anyone know if there are buses to the cemetery ? Thankyou for taking the time to read this xxxx

I'm afraid it's not on the bus route best way to get there is by car... If you google Vale of Leven Cemetery you will get directions on how to get there if you don't mind a bit of a walk :)
