Title: Irish Birth Certificatd
Post by: Wilksy60 on Thursday 14 August 14 20:55 BST (UK)
Hi

I need help on how is the best way to locate a birth certificate for my grand father, Daniel King born 1980-1892 in Tipperary,  he died 4/6/1959 and is buried in Buolick Old Cistersian Church.  Would his birth certificate show his mothers name which is what I am trying to find, I know his father was William King, but there is confusion on who his mother was.
Thanks

The online civil registration index should give you the details for ordering a birth certificate (and yes, mother's name will be shown but if the child was illegitimate then father's name usually doesn't appear). This is the only one for a 'Daniel King' born c1890 in Co. Tipperary-

Looks like this might be him in 1901 census-

William and Johanna (Hannah) are in 1911 census- married 17 years with 4 children living (1 dead)-

This looks like the Marriage for the census returns
William King/Johanna Corcoran
Urlingford
July Sep 1894 vol 3 page 465
He could possibly have been a widower for the above marriage

This could possibly be Daniels parents
William King/Margaret Mara
Marriage
Urlingford
April June 1889 vol 3 page 471

With a possible death for his mother
Margaret King age 25 born circa 1868.
Urlingford
Oct Dec 1893 vol 2 page 495.

It's best to put a link to an earlier query for the same family to prevent people from wasting their time & looking for information you have already been given.

Are you asking how to order the Birth Cert?
See here
https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx
Don't worry about parts of the form you can't fill in, just be sure to give the Name, Quarter, District, Vol and Page Number.
Get a Research Cert
And include your Email to receive it that way.
It costs €4.

Hi There,

Also to same parents a Bridget in 1893 and Mary in 1889.

The parents were married in Kilcooley on the 30th May 1889. Both listed as full age. William's address was Mellisane and he was a labourer. His father was also William King a labourer. Margaret's address was Gortnahoe and she was a servant. Her father was Daniel Mara, a soldier. Witnesses were Pat Kerwick and Kate Mara. It remarks that both William and Margaret's fathers are dead.

I hope this helps,
Holly
