Hi,
Is there anyone who has the book of gravestones at Lauder graveyard. I would like to find out the names etc., of anyone called Deans & Waddell who is buried there. Thanking you in advance.

Lauder is in Berwickshire, not Roxburgshire. Maybe repost this in the Berwickshire forum here?

There are 5 stones for Deans and 9 for Wadell/Waddel/Waddell at Lauder. None appears to have both names on the same stone.

Hi,
Thank you for replying to my e/mail. I have found out my 3 times grt grandfather Alexander Deans is buried at Lauder in 1835, but I have no idea when he was born or where, also trying to trace where his wife Agnes Waddell is buried. The only trace I have of her is in 1841 census, when she is living with a daughter at Pathhead Chrichton Midlothian.

All 5 Deans gravestones at Lauder are for ladies who married into other families.

Hi ,
Thank you for your reply. It would seem Alexander Deans didn't have a gravestone. I got his death at Blainslie (where he lived) & was buried at Lauder from Maxwells Ancestry. There was nothing showing on Scotlands people about his death, birth or marriage.
regards Cathiemay.
