Title: Details on uniform
Post by: cupcake on Wednesday 20 August 14 20:15 BST (UK)
Could someone please help  restore the photograph and, hopefully tell me the details on my father's uniform

I believe he was in the Home Guard in Brighton. The photograph was taken in 1943, just after my brother was born.

Good evening,

Not a lot to tell, he is indeed in the home guard according to his shoulder titles. Difficult to say what the medal ribbons are but possibly the war medal and victory medal from WW1. It just depends on his age.

Good Morning,

Thank you for confirming he was in the Home Guard. My father would have been 45 years old then.

He was in the WW1 and shot while in the Somme. He enlisted when he was 16.
