Hi saw the "Who do you think you are" with Tamzin Outhwaite and she looked up records of Italian internees in the Isle of Man for her relatives. Are these records online, can anyone see them? Thanks Evelina

I don't think the Isle of Man internee records are online (but check www.imuseum.im)?
But they would almost certainly be available at the library of the Manx Museum.

Thanks Stan but you need details such as dates and where which I don't have.
Thanks KGarrad, I will write to them

Am I the only person who remembers Julian Clarys' episode when he found out about his German g/grandfather who was also interned on the Isle of Man?

David Baddiel episode had IOM internee connection.

The Manx Museum Library (library@mnh.gov.im) does not hold any complete index (that would have been held by UK in London but was apparently destroyed) but has built up a partial index from various incidental records held on Island (eg by Police) - for WW2 the best surviving records are of the women and to a lesser extent Italians - remember in WW2 there were several camps spread around the Island and unlike WW1 women (+ children) were interned (they were held at cordoned off Port St Mary + Port Erin at south of Island) - Italians were held at Peel(which also housed British Fascists mostly from east end London + some Irish linked to IRA) + also Douglas (where the main camps were)
