:) Is any one able to help with this family member.
I have been unable to trace a marriage for Mary to Thomas (Tommy) Marsden circa 1935. She gave birth to their daughter, also Mary Catherine on 7/3/1936 in Farnworth Lancashire.
I have searched the England and Wales records for their marriage with no success. Wondering if they married in Ireland as family story has Mary being from Waterford. No war time wedding overseas either. Mary is names as formerly Mary (May) Welch on her daughters birth certificate.
She was still living in Bolton, Lancashire 1941 when Tommy was killed in action in the Middle East during WW2. Her daughter married in 1962 at a Roman Catholic Church in Bolton.
Any help and advice would be really appreciated. Thank you,
Sue.

Hi Sue,
I had a look and unfortunately don't seem to be in Ireland either.

:)Thank you so much for looking. There must be an explanation, but I haven't been able to solve it yet!

Be aware that unusual surnames like Welch may be written as the more common Walsh (e)
I found 3 variations of my own surname in Parish registers
Happy hunting, you will have hundreds of Walsh's to look through
