Below is the 1891 census showing John and Helen Steele with their daughter Margaret in Chorlton, Manchester.
Head John Steele 39
Wife Helen Steele 37
Daughter Margaret Steele 14
Boarder James Creighton 22
Margaret was born in 1876
I ordered the birth certificate, but in error, they delivered the wrong certificate, though my fault
I bought it to find out Helen's maiden name
I do not want to incur further expense, could anyone please find out the maiden name of Helen, wife of John Steel?

Hi,
There is an online tree with Margaret's birth as 29 Sep 1876, her mother's maiden name is shown as Baird.
Whilst I always err on the side of caution with an online tree you may be able to relate to this information.

Unable to find a marriage of John Steele to Helen Baird in England ??? However as Helen was born in Scotland they could have married there.

Using the free search on Scotlands People, there is a marriage between John Steele and Helen Baird in 1876. That's all I can tell from the free search, although it would be possible to work out the county and town by process of elimination
30 credits on SP cost £7. I think you need 1 credit to view a page of searches (which would give you the place of marriage) 5 credits to view the whole marriage record

So its Helen Baird, all the information on the pedigree looks correct
One quick question
On the 1911 census, John and Helen are stated to have had two children, but one has died since.
Margaret is still alive, could someone please help find the other child?

There's a few to choose from regarding the other child of Helen and John , here are 3 possibles ( purely based on the RD district of Chorlton !) All from Free BMD

Yes they lived in Chorlton, so its likely their child, though without a birth certificate, we cannot be certain
