I
I was wondering if anyone had access to Preston MI's for the period 1975 & 1928. I have two deaths for the name of Hermitt (mis-spelt sometimes as Hermit) Arthur William Hermitt died 1975 & Myrtle Joyce Hermit 1983, both registered Preston but may have lived in Amounderness. I believe they are husband & wife. Both came from Jamaica. Any info greatly appreciated or any other Hermitt researchers pls contact me.
Thanks Gaynor

Hi, when you say Preston do you know which church/cemetery exactly or are you going off the death record which I think is Preston South Ribble?
Added: also meant to say that unless you know there is a gravestone and whereabouts it could be it could be a difficult task to find them. Also need to consider that they may have been cremated and no gravestone exists.

Hi Gaynor
Both Arthur and Myrtle Hirmitt are buried in Preston (New) Cemetery, C of E Section, Plot MM 953. Mertyle paid for the grave in 1975, she was living at 233 New Hall Lane, Preston. Myrtle is not mentioned on the gravestone

Hi Duck
How kind of you, I wasn't expecting photos, you have made my day :)
Arthur died 1st in 1975 and maybe Mrytle remarried or went in with other relatives unless of course she only paid for "1" space rather than 2. I will check up on hat
Once again many thanks for all the info.

Hi, I know this is an old post.
Just wondered why the interest in Arthur and Myrtle?
They are my grandparents and their selfish son didn't get Myrtles name put on the grave. I assure you that this will be done before I take my last breath.
