I am looking for the marriage record for a William Markham who I believe would of been married in about 1604 in Keelby. I know he had the following children (at least) but not who his wife was or where he came from/year he was born. I know it is a bit of a long shot but any information would be great.
William Markham. Born about 1584 (?). Children of William Markham:
John Markham, christened on March 11th in either 1604 or 1605 in Keelby
Richard Markham, christened on March 4th 1608 or 1609 in Keelby
Robert Markham, born about 1613 in Keelby
Susanna Markham, christened on December 21 1617 in Keelby
Martha Markham, christened on July 8th 1621 in the same Parish
Look forward to a reply.
Many thanks and regards
Darren

Do either of you have links to Herbert William Markham b. 1915 d.1955? I believe my Grandfather was chauffeur to the Earl of Yarborough and tht both he and my Grandmother Minnie Markham lived in Church Lane Kelby.
Any help wouuld be appreciated with tracing my Markham roots back further than 1915.

Hello,
This is probably my line of Markhams. I got quite confused a number of years ago, but might come back to this line some time in the future. I am also on the MARKHAM-UK list. I am obviously very interested in this line of Markham. The item below immediately seems to be the right one, but not sure:
<<< WILLM MARCAM Christening: 09 JUL 1587 Keelby, Lincoln, England, Father: THOMAS MARCAM >>>
But the first born son then does seem to be a bit soon though !!!. It would seem that the Robert Markham Chr.:02-02-1614 who m. Ann Swallow would be my line !!!. They seem to connect to Markhams of Broughton by Brigg Lincs etc. I have my 67 markers test done too. Are there any other persons with the surname of Markham (or similar) coming into this line of Markham ?. My grt-grandfather came to Natal in the 1850's, and then in later life was given farms in Southern Rhodesia by Cecil John Rhodes. He was James Frederick Markham (06-12-1829) who m. Elizabeth Meek.
Cheers - Ken Markham (RSA) ....

Don't know if you have this info b y now, but your William Markham is on the new Mormon site.
CHILDREN OF JAMES MARKHAM OF KEELBY
William Markham bap 04 Mar 1580 — Keelby, Lincoln, England
I am looking for the parents of a Judith MARKHAM m Horkstow LIN 08 Jul 1604 to John Jacklin of Thornton Curtis. Can't find her on the IGI, sadly
The Markhams are a manorial family from Nottinghamshire. A junior branch settled in Sedgebrook South Lincolnshire in the 1500s, and we could descend from them, but more likely from earlier younger sons. If we can tie into the Nottinghamshire Markhams, though, they are well documented back to the early middle ages, and have some incredible connections.
Cheers

I am part of the Ladley line.

CHILDREN OF JAMES MARKHAM OF KEELBY:
William Markham bap 04 Mar 1580 — Keelby, Lincoln, England
Thank you very much for your responce, this should be correct. My next obvious question is: Who can tell me anything more or about James Markham the father of this William Markham 1580 of Keelby Lincs. ?. This should be my own direct line of ascent. Are there any other Markhams born before say 1580 in Keelby etc. ?.
Yours Sincerely,
Sir Ken Markham, K.C.B. (95).

My 11x great granddad was Edward Wardell, he was buried 1619 in Keelby. He married Joan Swallow in 1573 in Killingholme.
He had a daughter called Margaret, who was a sibling of my 10x great grandma, Ursula.
Margaret was baptised on 19.06.1576 in Killingholme.
On the 18th of May 1600 in Keelby, Margaret married a Markham.
The original register looks to me a lot like his name was "John Markham", however, the transcription has given his name as: "James Markham."
Margaret was married on the same date and place as Anne Wardell, who married Richard Lake.
Anne Wardell and Margaret may well have been siblings.
However, regarding a baptism for an "Anne, daughter of Edward Wardell.: The Closest I can find is this one in Killingholme, in February 1578:
"Anyis(?) daughter of Edward Wardell."
Anne Wardell and Richard Lake married 1600 in Keelby were the parents of Sir Edward Lake:

Thank you. :) ;)

Good evening !!! My grandmother on my dad's side is a Markham, she was meticulous about genealogy records. Her Markham goes back to Daniel and goes all the way back to Claron de Markham from East Markham. I am very interested in any other history and info on the Markhams.
