Hi All:
Can anyone make out George's last name?
This was from a marriage in Staffordshire in 1740.
I've a few ideas but wonder what others think.

Peight, Reight or Teight - just the first letter I'm unsure about
-
Same here….its the first letter thats hard to see.
I wondered if it was - Right - just a single letter before the '.ight'.
-
I'm pretty sure it's "eight" after the first letter making it a 6 letter surname
-
I'm now having second thoughts as to whether the H is actually an N
-
Feight or Peight?
-
The curate who was writing in most of the register makes all of the tails on the 'y' as straight lines. So I think the name ends in - ..ght.
20 years earlier there was a Peight marriage in this area of Staffordshire (1720). I think I'm also leaning towards Peight for the surname in 1740.
Thank you for your thoughts CaroleW and chirp.

Just checked on Familysearch and found this:
George Peight married Sarah Briggs 28 November 1740 Elford, Stafford
Could that be the one? I did not find any other marriages for George Peight in that year in Staffordshire.
