Hi, I have in my tree:
Arthur Graney b 1874 Selston.
Together with his wife Mahala Graney and their 2 children, Winifred and Edward they boarded the ship "Ionic" on the 24th June 1910 in London and sailed to Wellington in New Zealand.
I do not have a "world wide" subscription to Ancestry so I cannot find what happened to them after that date, finding a death record for Arthur and his wife would be wonderful, does anyone know anything about them? any help would be extremely appreciated.
Regards always
Frank.
-
Arthur died June 1956 & was buried in Maunu Cemetery, Whangarei on 25 June 1956 - Mahala is buried there as well but sorry I didn't take down her details.
If you google New Zealand Cemeteries online then scroll down to Whangarei you will find them.
Cheers,

Hi atina576, thank you so much for that, it is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks and best regards.

Here is the cemetery reply
Good Morning
"Thank you for your recent enquiry.
After searching our records unfortunately I cannot find a record for the late COTTER, Winifred.
Although referenced on the memorial for A&M Graney I can find no further reference to Winifred in our records.
Unless there is some alternative information, such as any other possible names, I’m afraid I can’t be much help."
It seems they have lost the plot ;D ;D

In Reply #11, I mentioned I couldn't find where Edward was. Think I have found him :D
According to a tree on Ancestry, for the parents, the death date for Edward was 25 July 1994 in Birkenhead.
Looks like he remarried to a Lilian Ada Jennings. She died 1 Feb 1986 in Auckland. Cremated at North Shore Cemetery

P.S. Wondering if someone may be able to pinpoint place of burial/cremation for Edward?? Or are the records you hold, as far as one can go without access to the library fiche?
-
I have been through my records backwards and forwards ... he only shows up for his first marriage. Not even the Tree Owner has put the burial place. Am thinking that the Death Printout might indicate where he could be. I also wonder perhaps if he was cremated.
Cheers
KHP
-
A printout should give that information, however I'm hoping there was a death notice.
Minniehaha.
-
There is a chance that he was cremated by one of the bigger FD's in Auckland who now have their own facilities,it is going to cause a large black hole for our Auckland records, both Morrisons and Davis' have their own facilities.

That is probably why, I can't find the ones that I want .... no indication on the notice where they are.... most annoying for researchers.

Hi Frank,
That looks like the place of death, but as mentioned in Minnie's Reply #40 is not showing up on the North Shore Cemeteries website, nor on my resources. Janette's Reply #49 could be the possible scenario. Might just have to hold fire until Minnie can sight the Death Notice and see if it is mentioned where he is.
