Title: McInnes Mauchline
Post by: lesleyegreen on Sunday 07 September 14 15:56 BST (UK)
Hello
Looking for information about a stationmaster at Mauchline by the surname McInnes. This is all the information I have at the moment but would be grateful for any information as I have just started on this branch of the tree. He had a son William who lived in Dumfries for many years. It is said he married for the second time and had William when he was 62!
Thanks
Lesley

I have found that he must have died before 1934 because Williams mother, Mary A McInnes nee Crosbie, is living in Dumfries and is listed as a widow on the Valuation Roll for that year.

You need you search for his death certificate on ScotlandsPeople - for a small fee you can download a copy of it, once you find the right death in the index. It will say who his parents were, providing the informant for the death knew who they were. Likewise his marriage certificate(s) will be on ScotlandsPeople. http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Thanks for that, going to the Scotland People Centre in Edinburgh in October so hopefully I will get all the info I need then.
