Hi - I have just discovered that I am descended from the sister of William Rae Wilson who is buried at the Glasgow Necropolis. Apparently he had some of his family moved there from another cemetery. I have a photo but it is too blurry to make out the inscriptions relating to the Rae family - I think there is mention of his brother John. I was wondering if some kind soul would be happy to go to the Necropolis and take a photo for me.
Here's hoping 8)

Would love to do this for your Jeanie - but need lots more prayers for a cross lotto win! Good luck with it - hope someone can help you out.
Cheers

Hi Jeanie,
The Wilson Mausoleum is part of the Necropolis Heritage Trail, see: https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=8325
There is also a 'Friends of the Glasgow Necropolis' organisation who might be able to get the details of the full inscriptions, see: http://www.glasgownecropolis.org/contact-us/
The door/gate of the Wilson Mausoleum is locked so any photos would need to be taken by poking a camera lens through the bars.
In the meantime, if you send me a PM with your personal e-mail, I think I might be able to help.
Anne :)

Hi Jeanie
I have just found your post and am interested in the detailed inscription that you requested on William Rae Wilson's tomb.
I am descended from John Phillips who was the father of William Rae Wilson's first wife, Frances or Fanny Phillips.
I have found one poor image of the inscription on Find a Grave but could not decipher much of it. Could I trouble you for the text??
Thanks
