The site of Prescott Workhouse http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Prescot/ is now Whiston Hospital
If you click on http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?coords=347980,391800 you can see the present map and historical maps (select from the list on the right) none of the original workhouse biuldings survive. An out of date Aerial view http://binged.it/1qhzqvB

There is some historical information here:
http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Prescot/
The site says the main workhouse buildings have been demolished.
Perhaps inferring that some buildings survive?

It depends on the date that remark was made as the whole site has been redeveloped in recent years under the governments PFI scheme, the new Whiston Hospital opened in March 2010,
