Title: Aussie seeking HARPER/HARPUR ancestors Painestown
Post by: PCP on Friday 19 September 14 12:21 BST (UK)
Hi all,
Just registered after reading numerous chats etc., on this site.
My 4th G/Grandfather Christopher Harper and his brother Patrick, were trialled for 'Sedition' , or similar, at Dublin in 1830'ish, following the death of their father John, who had been shot by a British militiaman on suspicion he (John) had been involved in the earlier Rebellion (?). Both transported to Colony of NSW. Their respective families have to varying degrees flourished (good breeders!) in subsequent generations.
My info as can be seen is fairly scant.
Hoping someone out there might be able to help me fill in numerous gaps.
Thanks in anticipation....
Peter Aussie.
