Good Morning
Martha Haslam - my direct ancestor - I do not have her mother in my tree ??...whilst looking at someone else in my tree , I noticed no mother for Martha ....so I am happy to search for her now - but if anyone would like to have a look - and we come to the same woman - that will confirm what I find ...
Martha Haslam bap 20th July 1800 at Carrington , Cheshire - father Timothy
off to find her mum now
cheers
added....mother Anne on familysearch

OK ...I have found a marriage 24th November 1795 in Carrington - but it has 2 surname records - obviously the transcription has 2 spellings for her .Anne Valentine / Volentine
I have also found she died in 1802 ....
I am going to check both of these spellings to see if I can find a baptism for Anne
her husband Timothy Haslam is baptised 1775 in Carrington - father Abraham Haslam / mother Ann
so I presume is about 1775 for a birth for Anne V
ADDED
none in Cheshire - about 6 in England which includes 3 in Lancs - so I am stuck now ...lol
couldn`t find any Volentine - so it looks like she was Anne Valetine ....any help would be appreciated ..
cheers

Could this be her....
Ann Valentine birth 5 Jan 1778 baptised 6 Feb 1778 Chowbent Unitarian Chapel
Parents Peter and Ann.
Abode Atherton Lancashire

Thanks Rolnora ...I seen that one - and other in Lancashire . 1778 in Eccles ,Lancs
I think the other 4 - 1 in Leicester/ 1 in Monmouth / 1 in Boston ,Lincolnshire / 1 in South Shields are unlikely ..
probably the Chowbent or Eccles births ....
just checked on AARouteplanner
Carrington to Eccles is 7 miles
Carrington to Chowbent is 13 miles ....so either look possible - maybe more so the Eccles because it is nearer ??

This one looks interesting. perhaps it was Volentine ???
Ann Volentine
Event Type Baptism
Baptism Date 4 Jan 1784
Parish Eccles, St Mary
Parish as it Appears Eccles
Father's Name Robert Brookes
The exact wording for this one is
Ann bastard daughter of Ann Valentine of Barton Pauper
Reputed father Robert Brookes of Barton Hatter
Mother's name Ann Volentine
-
as Ann married Timothy in nov 1795 - the 1784 Ann Volentine would be around 11 - but this one looks interesting
Ann Valentine
Event Type Baptism
Baptism Date 13 Feb 1774
Parish Eccles, St Mary
Parish as it AppearsEccles
Father's Name Wm Valentine
Mother's name Margt Valentine
this would make her around 1 year older than Timothy ??
the 1778 baptism would make her just 17 ....I like the 1774 one age wise ...but Timothy / Ann have no children named William / Margaret
what do you think ?
thanks for those Heather -

The reason I put the one with mother Ann and father Robert Brookes was that it doesn't give an age. Did she have her baptised to get help from the church?
