Title: James G. Hamer - Marriage
Post by: steve62 on Tuesday 23 September 14 16:53 BST (UK)
Have James G. Hamer (1863-     )  Parents William Hamer & Amelia Gregson)
Walmersley, Bury area.

According to the 1911 - Simons Sport Farm, Hawkshaw Lane, Ramsbottom - Labourer Cotton Mill
Wife Alice Ann Hamer.  Married approx. 1882.
First child was born in 1883.

Cannot find a marriage between 1880-1882.  Don't know if wife was Alice Ann ........ or was in fact Alice Ann Hamer.
Tried the Anc/Freebmd/Familysearch and Zilch.
Hamer is a very common name in the Bury and surrounding areas.
Grateful for assistance.

Steve

Looked at lancs.bmd to check the seven children from the 1911.  Found only one child the son Harold b.1900. (mother Gaskell)
Did'nt see Eileen b.1902 Bury.
I put in Hamer and mother Gaskell and the various dates of the children - "Lancashire".
Have I searched the wrong way?

However thank you both very much for your time and interest. Appreciated.

Steve

Correction: Just tried without putting mothers' maiden name and found the entries with maiden name.

Must thank you all for your time and especially pointing out lancsbmd.
I have been able to trace children for other Hamers and some other branches.
