Anyone have knowledge of Augusta Lutsky (Lubky?) born Germany abt 1851 and daughter of Leopold. She was raised in Limerick, Ireland and married John Cummins at Limerick in 1872. They had children Adina Mary Cummins b 1872 and Francis Cummins b 1874. They seem to have gone to South Africa where john died 1878 in King Williams Town, Western Cape. It is thought that Augusta remarried abt 1879 to a Michael Maloney who was Irish born and occupied as a saddler. Witnesses to marriage were J. McCarthey and W Albrecht. Augusta may have had further children. Michael Maloney died 1893 aged 47 years and Augusta died 1937 aged 86 years. Both buried in KWT Cemetery. What became of Adina and Francis Cummins and any other children?

Hi Pampoen. Thanks for contact. All I have are names - ie - Adina Mary and Francis as children of John Cummins and Augusta nee Lutsky (Lubky?). I have no knowledge as to middle names for Francis so at present cannot say if person you mention may be connected. I would also need to admit to not understanding the source and wording of the details you provide although one seems to be a court case and about time of Boer War?

The first one appears to be an expense claim in a court case that Henry Cummins of the Natal Police gave evidence. The second two are estate files. All three of these are from Natal, not the Cape. Copies can all be ordered through eggsa.org
