One of my elusive ancestors, Richard Rawcliffe ,was said to have been born in Ellel in the 1851 census and Garstang in the 1861 census. He died in 1866 in the Fylde, where I'm 99% sure the family came from.I can't find a baptism in St.Helen's/Churchtown,St.Michael's on Wyre,Ellel,Poulton le Fylde,Goosnargh.
Where else[ in terms of Parish church records ] would people suggest I look for someone who thought they were born in Ellel ?

Hi,
A stab in the dark as I don`t know his age or his parents but as he mentioned Garstang in the 1861 what about this one:
RAWCLIFFE, Richard Christening
Gender: Male
Christening Date: 11 Oct 1829 Recorded in: Garstang, Lancashire, England
Father: Henry RAWCLIFFE
Mother: Jennet
Source: FHL Film 1502428 Dates: 1826 - 1861
I would imagine that it is St. Thomas`s, Garstang.

Hi
I had to look him up on the 1861 census as the original message gave no details of his age or the fact he was living with his father - Harry- in 1861. He was b approx 1830 so it's odds on you have found the right entry

Good news eveyone...I've found him.In the lds IGI there is a Richard Rowcliffe [should be Rawcliffe ] being christened in 1779....this is my man,at last, with the correct father and then later one brother and two sisters spelt Rawcliffe.I hadn't checked alternative spellings.
Thankyou for other peoples thoughts.
