Hi All I am having a massive clear out of geneo stuff. My research years began
before the internet and lead me to the EVANS family of NSW......which in the end was not to be but so many of that family sent me certificates, photos etc etc, and I have just found the file and would like to forward on to a descendant of James Evans born1820 Gloucester, England died Sept. 29 1859 61 years who arrived as CONVICT on Asia 1 in 1820 to NSW. James Evans married Isabella Irving 24.3.1823 Castlereagh....So if you are or know of a descendant who would like this hugh file, including copies of the 2 family books written by Kim Evans would you please message me and for the cost of REGISTERED POST I will send.......thanks for reading Noelene

Hi and welcome to rootschat ;D
You are going to have to research forward and at that time you are looking in two separate sets of records James Evans Gloucester, England and Isabella Irving Castlereagh, which is South Belfast, now part of the UK, but will be in Irish records then, up to 1922.
Do you have the dates correct? As if James Evans was born in 1820 you have him as a convicted convict traveling in 1820 ??? and any descendants of his would be in NSW

They married in 1823 in New South Wales.
If he died in 1859 aged 61, he was born about 1798 :)
Looks like there was a son called William born in 1827
(From the NSW BMD site).

Hi Noelene..... I am new to this family research, however whilst looking for info I found your post from 2014 re James Evans and Isabella Irving. I am a descendant of them. I am wondering if you ever sent the information you had collected on to anybody who contacted you.

Just wondered if this woman, Georgianna Evans figures somewhere in your families!
Marriage
Georgianna Elizabeth Evans married George William Paulson (my great grandmother's nephew who emigrated to Aust. during the Gold Rush) on March 9, 1857, in Castlemaine, Victoria. She was his first wife, but I don't think they had any children.

Death of Husband
Her husband George William passed away in 1916 in Sydney, New South Wales, at the age of 84. They had been married 59 years.

I do have more info on these families if it is of any help to you!

Hi Jeanne
Thank you for you interest.
Unfortunately I don't see any connection between Georgianna and Isabella.
Isabella and James had arrived in Sydney as convicts in 1819 and 1820.
By way of coincidence your George William Paulson had spent time at Lismore in Northern NSW.
Although it appears he died in Sydney, his obituary was printed in the Lismore paper Northern Star on 20 July 1916. Lismore is where my eldest daughter now lives, its a small world.

Hello Tom, I'm sorry I've only just picked up your reply. It certainly is a very small world.
Yes, after the death of Georgianna in Castlemaine, George Paulson moved to Lismore, NSW, where he carried on as a popular hotel proprietor at the Commercial Hotel. (Possibly still there) do have that obit, thank you. )
(He had remarried in Melbourne - moved around bit and went to Sydney, where he later died)
