Hi all :)
not often I ask for a request, but can anybody on here confirm what I suspect,
George Edwards married Sarah Rowe, 12 March 1808 Cound ( Shropshire ), I have them on all census from 1841 onwards, this I know as fact,
I think George was born in Uffington, son of James and Jane ,
Methinks there is a link with Ryton 11 towns,

Hiya Pete - I am a little confused .
according to Familysearch - George Edwards married Sarah Rowe in Condover 12th March 1808 - not Cound ...BUT ..
it also has a George Edwards in 1841 census born in 1791 in Cound ...this would make George Edwards only 17 at the marriage if he is the right George ??
can I ask where you found the marriage was in Cound ??
Margaret Edwards bap 5th june 1808 in Cound - parents George and Sarah - is this their firstborn ?
if so she was born 3 months after the marriage - so maybe George was only 17 and came from Cound and returned back to Cound after the marriage ?

where are George and Sarah in 1841 census - is it Cound ?....if so - it looks like the George b 1791 in Cound

Thanks for the time all, :) I found this marriage by visiting Shropshire archives, I.G.I., I am looking at a copy of the cert from the original,
the marriage was by banns.
they both give there parish as Cound, try as I might I cannot find a George Edwards born in Cound, spent many hours in the archives ( only 15 mins walk ) trying, witnesses,

9 sept 1868 Sarah Edwards of Coundmoor aged 84 buried
I am prety certain that they may have been closet Catholics as there offspring were baptised at the nearby Acton burnell R/C church,

The parish mentioned on a marriage certificate is simply where they were living during the required qualifying period while the banns were called!
It most certainly does not imply they were born there!
I assume you are looking at the Parish Record, and not the IGI?
Marriage certificates only came into being on 1st July 1837! ;D

Silly question I suppose - but could Condover actually be Cound Over ?....a part of Cound ...?...gonna google Condover
added....no Condover is the correct spelling
by road they are 9 miles apart - but it is like going around a Horseshoe shaped road ...in effect across land I would say no more than 3 miles ...

He married Ellen Littlehales, they went on to have a son called James who married Elaner Rudge, who in turn had a son called Charles he married Julia Maguire, they produced my late dad,

George Edwards married Sarah Rowe, I have this couple on every census till the year they dont turn up, Sarah is easy, Its Goerge Im stuck on, I have spent many hours down at our local archives looking for him, I have looked at every nearby parish for a birth of George that might fit the said person with no luck, except for one,
