Searching for the parents and ancestors of Joseph Bullock Needham born around 1839 possibly Stamford, Melton Mowbray - Rutland County. Went to New Zealand some time prior to 1867

Hi everyone
Does anyone have any information on Francis Needham (c 1769 - Aug 1835) & Charlotte ________ (c May 1778 - 1870) possibly around Leicestershire or Northampton.

I've found the following but as it's the 1841 census there is not a lot of info.
Place: Wymondham, Melton Mowbray Leicestershire

Thank you for that info, My research tells my that Charlotte b.1776 had a daughter named Charlotte b.1816.
Charlotte b.1776 or 1778 was married to Francis Needham born b.1765 or 1769. I also have them married c 1797. They had a son Joseph b.1804, no middle name listed.
1851 census has a Joseph Needham c 1804 married (1826 in Barnack, Northampton) to Jane Death Bullock c 1804, they had a son Joseph b. 1835 (again no middle name listed) living with them aged 16. I am yet to link the Joseph's as father and son but the areas of living and birth are good. I have no BDM etc to prove the link with my Joseph Bullock Needham who was born Wymondham Aug 1835. The name association suggests Joseph and Jane are the parents of my Joseph Bullock Needham b. 1835. See link below to more info on the Leicestershire site.

Have you seen the 1841 cen in Teigh Rutland
Joseph b abt 1806 with wife Jane,also b abt 1806, dau Eliza 1831,sons William 1832, Joseph 1834 and Charles 1839.
I have checked parish records for Teigh and it gives bp's for Joseph and Charles as sons of Joseph and Jane, Joseph a farmer. Teigh is very close to Wymondham.
I founda Joseph b 1804 on the 1851 cen but is a Master butcher b Wymondham and his wife is Ann so I dont think he is right.
Do the other children's names tie in with what you already have?
It's looking quite likely that Joseph and Jane are his parents.

Fits with what I got, last part also fits with My Francis being decesed prior to 1845 as my records have him deceased 11 Aug 1835.
Do you have Joseph with Joseph and Jane 1851?

Interesting point it looks like Joseph snr (husband of Jane Death Bullock) and Sarah Needham, Children of Francis and Charlotte, may have married siblings. See link

You seem to have proved it eventually and you have gained a lot of info on the way.
I was looking again at the 1841 census in Wymondham of Charlotte and there is an Eliza BULLOCK with her aged 7 b in county of Leics. Could she be her granddaughter? could she be a daughter of Jane D Bullock born before she married Joseph? I know they had a daughter Eliza b abt 1831 but I also found a bu at Leicester for an Eliza Bullock in 1841. Just a thought.
Also on the 1841 in Teigh next door to Joseph, Jane and family is Elizabeth Bullock aged 60 b1781 not in Rutland, could she be Jane's mother?
Still lots to search!!

Its possible, though I also have Sarah Needham (sister of Joseph) b. 1805 married to Thomas Death Bullock, may be their child? Looks like siblings married siblings.
My findings have Joseph and Jane married on Barnack/Barnoak 7 May 1826, Eliiza born c. 1831 looks close but not sure.
I will look into Elizabeth Bullock and see what I can find.
