Ok.

I think this must be Catherine in 1891. There are no other near misses. Name spelt as it was heard.

Do you know of any children born to Hugh and Catherine. If so could I have details. They are still eluding me in 1901.

Lubbie,

The Hugh Rice I found in 1901 at home with parents was a Widower. I think he may be your man. I will post details in a tick.

Ooops, Maths never was my best subject  :-\

Still might be her, though. Transcribing error, maybe.  3's and 2's can look the same. Will only know if you send for cert.

Good Luck, Tricia

For the Price St family: "Samuel" should read Daniel, mother Eliza Shiel(d)s. Both from Down, him from Newtownards, her from Ballynafeigh even though one census reads Ballynahinch. Is this your family?

Forgot to state that Hugh and his sister Catherine were born in Ballynafeigh, now South Belfast, Down.
