Title: Pentrefuddyn?
Post by: fridayschild on Saturday 25 October 14 10:50 BST (UK)
I have a copy of my 2x Great Uncles birth certificate, he was William Lewis son of John and Elizabeth Lewis nee Morgan who was born on January 14th 1868 at Gardeners Row, Pentrefuddyn, Flint. Does anyone know whether Gardeners Row still exsists or what part of Flint was Pentrefuddyn in as I have been unable to find any information about it.

I can find references to Gardeners Row, Pentre, Flint - there is also an area called Pentre Ffwrndan which I guess is the area on your certificate

Hi

According to the 1871 census, he was born in Flint itself.  The nearest that I can find is Pentre Ffwrndan.

Many thanks for all your replies, I am almost sure that Pentre Ffwrndan is the Pentrefuddyn that is on the certificate. :)
