Shows a child Arthur aged 1 month.


The marriage was 1st January 1851- Blackburn Parish church
Witnesses John Pilkington and Thomas Livesey who witnessed all marriages on that day.

Strangely - no fathers names on any of the entries in that register

Have you not checked Family Search or www.lan-opc.org.uk?  Very likely candidate on FS given that he named his first child Arthur

Have you checked the 1841 census

If you get the marriage certificate it will give both their fathers names and jobs. (then the fun begins ..with a name like Kay in Lancashire!  LOL!)    seriously you can then look in the original parish records at rogers baptism
the marriage reference no. is   BLACKBURN  21. 2       quarter 1
from either Blackburn reg office or  from
  http://www.gro.gov.uk. Don't know what Blackburn reg office charge but the gro charge standard fee of £9.25

Lancashire opc has the marriage but transcribed  as Hay.
Groom's father is Arthur, a stonegetter
Bride's father is Richard, a weaver
